Unlike traditional computing, cloud computing uses Internet servers to store data and run programs. This makes data accessible from any Internet-connected device. Cloud computing allows businesses to reduce IT costs, by eliminating the need for servers and updates. It also gives organizations the ability to reach a large number of users at once. Cloud solutions are expected to grow more popular in the coming years. However, security should be a top concern.

Clouds form when an area of air becomes cooler. The warm air rising from the ground is less dense than the air at the surface. As the air rises, water vapour condenses, creating clouds. Clouds can be visible or invisible.

Clouds are classified into five physical forms. These forms include stratus, cumulus, cirrus, stratocumulus, and nimbostratus. Each cloud form can be further classified by altitude.

Cumulus clouds are produced by warm air rising from the ground. They are typically large and look like giant cotton balls. Nimbostratus clouds occur when warm air overlies cold air. Cirrus clouds are thin and often curve with the wind.

Clouds have a classification system that helps meteorologists predict the effects of weather. The names of clouds have two basic components: a Latin name and a common name.

Clouds are classified into two main types: stratus and cumulus. The latter is commonly referred to as a “surface-based cloud layer”.

Clouds can be classified into vertical and mid-level clouds. Vertical clouds are classified into low-level, mid-level, and high-level clouds. Low-level clouds have no altitude-related prefixes. High-level clouds have a prefix of cirro.
